Guide to Orange Essential Oil

Orange essential oil or sweet orange essential oil is a very versatile oil obtained from the fruit and rind of the orange tree. It is believed to enhance mood, improve immunity and reduce symptoms of several other ailments in the body like digestive issues and skin disorders.

Ways to use

Nightly skin tonic

Orange oil acts as a tonic for oily skin. It reduces oil secretion and controls acne breakouts during the night.

Step 1:
Add 2 to 3 drops of Orange essential oil to a cup of water
Step 2:
Use the mixture to wash your face before going to bed

Makeup remover

Step 1:
Add 3 to 4 drops of Orange essential oil to a tablespoon of Sweet Almond carrier oil.
Step 2:
Apply the blend to the face with a cotton pad
Step 3:
Leave it on the skin for 5 minutes
Step 4:
Wipe it off with a soft and clean cloth

Massage oil

It works as a muscle relaxant that reduces the incidents of painful muscle contractions. It is also a relief for pain & swelling in the joints.

Step 1:
Warm 3 tablespoons of Sesame seed carrier oil
Step 2:
Mix 10 drops of Orange essential oil in the warm sesame oil
Step 3:
Apply to the affected area and massage until it is fully absorbed into the skin


When diffused in the room, it reduces anxiety & sadness and boosts motivation and clarity

Step 1:
Fill the diffuser with water ( as per the capacity of the diffuser )
Step 2:
Add a few drops of Orange essential oil to the water ( 4 to 5 drops for every 100 ml of water in the diffuser. Add a couple of more drops if you feel the aroma is not strong enough )
Step 3:
Switch on the diffuser and relax


  • Avoid contact with eyes, nose, and sensitive areas.
  • Never apply essential oils to the skin or scalp directly. It is highly recommended to dilute the oil using a carrier oil to avoid skin irritation.
