• Adjust amount of soap nut sheels based on the size of your laundry load. 4 to 6 soapnuts per load will be ideal.
• Soap nuts work more effectively in soft water. For hard water consider soaking the soapnuts in hot water before putting them in the machine.
• Hang the reetha bag in your laundry room and let the floral essence of lavender fill the room.
• If the load is heavily soiled add a quarter cup of baking soda to the wash.
• One batch of soap nuts can be reused for upto 4 times.
• Soap berries turn mushy and grey when it is time to replace them. Discarded shells can be used to make compost.
