Procedure to make incense sticks from essential oils

Use a long shallow dish to let the incense sticks soak in the essential oils. However, if you do not have one, you can make use of aluminum foil and fold it in a V shape.

Making one incense stick at a time

The choice of fragrance for an  incense is completely up to you.There are literally hundreds of blends or you could get creative  and work on something unique and exciting.Stay experimental when it comes to making your own incense sticks.If you are a novice, we would suggest that you go with one incense stick at a time. And once it goes fine and you’ve found the perfect blend, you can make a bunch of them altogether. 

Follow our instructions:

Step 1: Lay your blank and unscented incense stick on an oval dish, or a temporary dish made of aluminum foil.

Step 2: After that, mix two or more essential oils that you are fond of. You can even use a single essential oil too.

Step 3: Sprinkle the essential oil over the unscented incense stick. One incense stick would need around 20 drops of pure essential oil.

Step 4: You can reuse the drippings in the box. Once the whole incense stick is mixed with the essential oil, store it in a glass jar and let it dry for twenty-four hours.

Step 5: After drying, the incense sticks are ready to use. This is an easy and simple method to carry out.

Step 6: You can also add the essential oils using an eyedropper to avoid spilling.

    Making a bunch of incense sticks

    The procedure to make a bunch of incense sticks is similar to what we discussed above. For instance, let’s assume that you want to make 50 incense sticks. Considering that each incense stick needs 20 drops of essential oils, 50 incense sticks would require 50 * 20 = 1000 drops of essential oil.

    • You can use a graduated cylinder and add the required amount of essential oil into it. Dip the incense sticks in a bunch of 10-15 into the cylinder and let them absorb the essential oil.
    • Repeat the procedure for the rest.
    • Let the incense sticks soak in the essential oil by leaving them overnight.
    • And you’re done!

    Added perks to making incense sticks this way is you don’t even need to burn the incense sticks for a few days. You only need to open the jar in which they are kept, and the scent will fill the room right away!
